Steak-n-Shake Chili
Ingredients
2 tbsp oil
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1 can onion soup
1 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp cocoa
2 cans kidney beans
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup cola (Coke, Pepsi, or generic)
Preparation
Brown ground beef and salt in oil. Put soup in blender, blend for 1 minute. Add all to crock pot. Drain beef and beans before adding to pot. Let simmer on low for 6 hours or on high for 2 hours.
Chili con Carne

Ingredients
2 pounds extra-lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1 quart skinned fresh tomatoes or home-canned tomatoes, or
2 (16-ounce) cans tomatoes
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
4 cups beef broth
2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf oregano
Dash of hot-pepper sauce
2 cups pinto beans, cooked, or 2 (16-ounce) cans pinto or red kidney beans, drained

Prawn Chili Masala

Ingredients
75 g (3 oz.) unsalted butter
6 green cardamoms, split open the top of each pod
1-inch cube of root ginger, peeled and finely grated
3-4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
1 tbsp. ground coriander
1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
450 g (1 lb) fresh peeled prawns
125 g (5 oz.) thick set natural yogurt
90 ml. (3 fl. oz.) water
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt or to taste
25 g (1 oz.) ground almonds
4-6 whole fresh green chilies
100 g (4 oz.) finely chopped onions
2 fresh green chilies, seeded and minced
1/2 tsp. garam masala
1 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves

Andromeda Vegetarian Chili

Ingredients
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped, remove seeds
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. masa harina (or corn flour)
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
6 dried apricots, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. yellow salad mustard
15 oz. hunt’s tomato sauce w/bits
1 1/2 cups water

Ingredients
3 ancho chilies, dried
1 tbsp. butter, unsalted
1 tbsp. oil, olive
2 1/2 lb stew meat
1 large onions, chopped
2 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp. tomato paste
1/4 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 1/4 cups beef stock
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 1/2 tsp. cilantro, chopped
4 oz goat cheese, crumbled
